Bull Horns Coat Rack

This was the most interesting project I've had so far. I was given 2 bull horns and 2 weeks time to come up with a decent-looking coat rack. These are a 50-year birthday present. At first i had no idea on how to implement this project, but then ideas came to me. It was clear that I was going to use a solid wood backboard. But attaching the horns to the board so sturdy that they could hold a heavy leather jacket was challenging. I tried different solutions, but in the end I decided to use screws, plywood tenons, and some Pu-foam.

Here is the finished product!
I designed an alder backboard to which the horns will be attached. It is in the shape of armorial bearings. It has a milled bevel on the front sides. The screws are drilled from the back of the board into the horns.
The drilling machine neatly punched through the horn!
I used Pu-foam to strengthen the structure.
The screws will go through these plywood tenons to tighten up the horns to the backboard.
This is not a very good picture, but there is a date written on that horn on the right. It reads 1973. In 2013, 40 years would have passed from the death of the bull!

There was originally supposed to be a cow hide to hide the seam part, but the order arrived late.
The coat rack is attached to the wall by 2 screws that pierce the board through the front.
